CBS tanked with its 10 o'clock spec "Dynasty Reunion: Catfights and Caviar." Net was trying to cash in on the 1980s ABC hit sudser, but viewers have apparently moved on and weren't interested in catching up with Joan Collins, Linda Evans and company.
According to Nielsen, the "Dynasty" spec averaged a tiny 1.5 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.35 million viewers overall -- less than half of what CBS had averaged in the time period recently with repeats of its crime dramas. It ran fourth for the hour in 18-49, lagging the other broadcasters as well as NBA playoff action on TNT.
Poor perf capped an otherwise solid night for CBS, which remained the top-rated alternative to Fox from 8 to 10 with "NCIS" (3.3/9 in 18-49, 14.95m) and "The Unit" (3.7/9, 14.06m). Former was up 6% year to year.
Fox was its usual stout self, though, winning its 16th straight Tuesday since "American Idol" started its season.
The music talent show dominated at 8 (11.4/31, 28.58m), beating the other five broadcast nets combined in the hour by 25% in 18-49 and rising 15% above its demo score on the same night a year ago (9.9/28).
"House" (8.7/22, 22.71m) cooled a bit from the previous week's record delivery but also rolled, beating its ABC-CBS-NBC competish combined in 18-49. It was up a nifty 24% year to year (from 7.0/17 in 18-49).
NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" (5.3/14, 15.27m) easily captured the 10 o'clock hour, with ABC's "Boston Legal" running second (3.1/8, 10.37m).
Also for the Peacock, it was a quiet finish to the six-week run of 9:30 p.m. laffer "Teachers" (2.0/5, 4.49m), which lost 23% of its lead-in from "Scrubs" (2.6/7, 5.07m).
