Network has greenlit half-hour pilots "The Amazing Hannigans," from "Hannah" producer Todd Greenwald, and "Housebroken," a spinoff of "Suite Life" from exec producers Irene Dreayer, Danny Kallis and Pam Eels.
"The Amazing Hannigans" centers on brother-sister pair Jordan and Julia, teenage wizards whose family runs a magic shop in New York City. Greenwald will exec produce and write the pilot.
"Housebroken" follows "Suite Life" handyman Arwin, who leaves his position at the Hotel Tipton to help his frazzled, overworked sister take care of her kids. Brian Stepanek plays Arwin. Kallis and Eels wrote the pilot.
Disney has had a robust live-action biz this year, beginning with January's boffo premiere of original movie "High School Musical," which wracked up a network-high 7.7 million viewers. Bow of "Hannah Montana" last month collected a cool 5.4 million viewers, posting best-ever numbers for a series among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14. In addition, most recent original made-for "Cow Belles" drew a strong 5.8 million overall.
Production and casting for the pilots will begin shortly.
Greenwald has written for "According to Jim" and "Family Affair." Before "The Suite Life," Dreayer co-exec produced the comedies "Smart Guy" and "Sister, Sister."
