Parker fills 'Vacancy'

Thesp finds room in Screen Gems thriller

Sarah Jessica Parker will topline the suspense thriller "Vacancy" for Screen Gems, with Sony-based Hal Lieberman producing.

Production is planned for the fall.

Script, written by Mark L. Smith, is about a couple who check into a motel and, unaware there's a hidden camera, become the subjects of a snuff film. Parker will play the wife, who is still reeling from the death of her infant son.

Lieberman is producing. Brian Paschal and Stacy Cramer exec produce.

Lieberman, formerly head of production at Universal, is in production on Disney and Walden Media's "Bridge to Terabithia," based on the Newbery Award-winning children's book.

The Hal Lieberman Co. also is partnering with Gold Circle Films on the supernatural thriller "Before."

Parker most recently starred in Par's "Failure to Launch." She'll next be seen in ThinkFilm's "Strangers With Candy" with husband Matthew Broderick and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
