Avi Lerner's Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films also are producing as well as financing. Indie pic is set to begin lensing Tuesday in Los Angeles.
In addition to Payne and London, producers are Lerner and Randall Emmett. John Thompson, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson are exec producing. Emmett/Furla's M. Dal Walton III is co-producing.
Project marks the feature directorial debut of Michael Cahill, a classmate of Payne's at UCLA film school. Cahill, best known for his Faulkner Prize-winning novel "A Nixon Man," also penned the script.
Story revolves around a teenage girl and her eccentric father, who is obsessed with finding buried treasure in the San Fernando Valley.
Wood ("Thirteen") will next be seen in "Running With Scissors," skedded for a September release by Sony. She also stars in director Julie Taymor's upcoming "Across the Universe" for Revolution Studios and Sony.
Douglas, in theaters now with "The Sentinel," will next been seen in Universal's "You, Me and Dupree," which is in post-production.
