The Discovery cable network has renewed docudrama "Little People, Big World," ordering 14 half-hours that will continue to follow the experiences and challenges of the Roloff family, which includes both little people and normal-height members.
Second season is slated to return later this year.
Gay Rosenthal (Lifetime's upcoming "Face the Family") exec produces alongside Paul Barrosse, Joseph Freed and Deborah Adler Myers.
"Little People" has been a boon to ratings-challenged TLC, which recently returned to its roots as the Learning Channel by scaling back on splashy reality and home design shows. Series has averaged a solid 1.3 million viewers since its premiere and posted a 40% increase in adults 18-49 vs. last year's primetime average.
"Issues of family, relationships and growing up all take on new meaning when seen through the lens of the lives of the Roloff family," said TLC exec VP-general manager David Abraham. This series "embodies the network's mission to help audiences 'live and learn.' "
Finale airs May 13 at 8 pm. Mom Amy Roloff will host a Mother's Day marathon of the show May 14.
