Trio shows some 'Bite'

Project is expected to go into production this year

Horror film writer Dan O'Bannon, former Paramount exec Brian Witten and producer Rob Gallagher are developing sci-fi thriller "They Bite."

O'Bannon, whose credits include "Alien," "Alien vs. Predator" and "Total Recall," will write and direct.

Project is expected to go into production this year.

While at Paramount as an exec VP, Witten oversaw "The Longest Yard," "Four Brothers" and "Mission: Impossible III." He previously worked as a senior VP at New Line.

Gallagher heads Gallagher Literary Management. Prior to founding the management/production banner, Gallagher was exec VP of Gaga America, the Los Angeles-based subsid of Japanese distributor Gaga.
