MTV Asia, Motorola dial up deal

New content package to launch internationally

SINGAPORE -- MTV Networks Asia and Motorola have launched a content package tailored for TV, mobile phone and the Internet.

Called Mobbed, it will run in Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

It comprises an on-air show that will be hosted by VJs local to each market. Viewers can send images via mobile phone that will be aired during the show's Mobtage segment.

There are also mobisodes of animated series "Mob Squad" that can be downloaded onto mobile phones. Music news and show updates can be sent to phones via MotoAlert while viewers can chat to each other online via blogs.

"Mobbed reinforces MTV's commitment to connect with our audience on every platform possible," said Nigel Robbins, prexy of MTV Networks Asia Pacific.
