MPAA puts Frazier on int'l duty
Exec new topper on trade policy
Frazier, who replaces 14-year veteran Bonnie Richardson, will fight for trade policies to protect MPAA members from piracy -- the industry's biggest bugaboo --- and for open competition in global markets. He'll work closely with Hollywood studios as well as U.S. and foreign governments.
"With ongoing concerns of piracy and market access in places like Russia and China, our international policy and outreach is among our most important endeavors," Glickman said.
Frazier has been a special adviser to Glickman since fall 2004. He was chief of staff at the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture when Glickman was Agriculture Secretary.
Before joining the MPAA, Frazier was an independent consultant on trade policy. He was senior VP for international affairs for the Intl. Dairy Foods Assn. and senior public policy adviser in D.C. for Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.
Previously, he was chief agriculture negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, serving with the rank of ambassador.
He also spent 18 years in various staff positions in the U.S. House of Representatives.
