Anchor taps Lomax

World Brief

U.S.-backed Anchor Bay Entertainment has appointed Colin Lomax as managing director of its U.K. distribution arm.

Anchor Bay, which also incorporates the Manga Entertainment label, is owned by IDT Entertainment, the fast-expanding production and distribution division of U.S. telco IDT.

IDT, which recently hired former Universal and MGM topper Chris McGurk to spearhead its entertainment arm, is planning a push into U.K. theatrical distribution with Anchor Bay.

Lomax is a veteran of the U.K. homevid biz, working at VCI, Polygram Video, Universal and ITV before setting up his own company, Maximum Entertainment, which he sold last year.
