'Dog' jumps to B'way

'Little' show transfers to Great White Way

'The Little Dog Laughed'

Julie White and Neal Huff starred in 'The Little Dog Laughed' during its Off Broadway run at Second Stage.

Producer and general manager Roy Gabay will bring "The Little Dog Laughed" to Broadway this fall.

He's taking the lead on the transfer of the Off Broadway hit, which earned strong reviews and did big biz at Second Stage earlier this year.

The Scott Ellis-helmed production of the Douglas Carter Beane comedy, about a closeted movie star negotiating his public image and his love life with a hustler, would have moved to Broadway earlier if Rialto houses had not been booked solid, thanks to an unusually busy spring.

Exact dates and theater have yet to be announced. Casting has not been confirmed, but Julie White, who won raves for her performance as the star's agent, looks likely to return.

In 2002 Gabay transferred Second Stage's production of Mary Zimmerman's "Metamorphoses" to Broadway, where it ran for just under a year.
