HOLLYWOOD -- The City of Light, City of Angels French film fest feted its 10th anniversary at the Directors Guild of America with the international premiere of Francis Veber's comic romp "The Valet."

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa joined French ambassador Jean-David Levitte; MPAA CEO Dan Glickman; Writers Guild West prexy Patric Verrone; thesps Jacqueline Bisset, Judith Godreche and Julie Delpy; and helmers Michael Mann, Taylor Hackford and Laurent Cantet at the prescreening reception hosted by L.A.'s Club Culinaire of French chefs. Event screens 18 recent French features during the one-week fest as well as a high-level piracy discussion between French and U.S. officials.

"After the success of 'The March of the Penguins,' our capacity to entertain a large number of spectators is no longer in doubt," proclaimed ambassador Levitte, while Villaraigosa offered up a plug for Mann's "Miami Vice."
