MSNBC programmer exits

Sullivan to replace Effron as daytime programming VP

Eric Effron, one of MSNBC's top programming execs, has announced he will not renew his contract after four years at the cable news channel.

The daytime programming VP will be replaced by news director Susan Sullivan, who led the net's coverage of the Iraq war, the 2004 elections and Hurricane Katrina.

MSNBC is the No. 3 cable news net in the ratings, but now challenges CNN in adults 24-54 between 7 and 9 p.m.
