Tim Allen and George Lopez will co-star in the comedy "Amigos" at Touchstone Pictures.
Todd Garner produces with Allen.
In the pic, based on an idea by Allen, he and Lopez will play mismatched in-laws who have to raise their grandson.
Allen and Garner will produce through their respective shingles, Boxing Cat Films and Broken Road Prods. Seth Greenland wrote the script.
Project marks a reunion of sorts for Garner, who was a longtime Disney exec before joining Revolution Studios as a partner. Last year he stepped down to be a Revolution-based producer. He's a producer on the upcoming Allen starrer "Zoom," which Revolution will release this summer.
Allen is currently starring in Disney's "The Shaggy Dog," which he also produced. He'll next star in "Wild Hogs," a Hell's Angels comedy with Martin Lawrence and John Travolta.
Lopez, whose eponymous comedy series is in its fifth season on ABC, also is starring in Universal's "The Richest Man in the World."
