Story revolves around a singer obsessed with the occult who buys a ghost on eBay in the form of a man's burial suit. He's ultimately forced to confront both the ghost and the demons of his own past.
Hill is a prizewinning short story writer who previously published the anthology "20th Century Ghosts." "Heart Shaped Box," which is his first novel, won't be published until next year by William Morrow/HarperCollins, but WB exec veep Kevin McCormick sparked to a short logline sent to publishers, got an early peek at the prose and made a quick deal.
At the time, neither McCormick nor Goldsman were aware that Hill had a famous father.
