'Date' kissed by New Line

Benderspink directs efforts to 'Save'

New Line has decided to "Save the Date," snapping up Jared Bush's spec script and setting up the romantic comedy with Chris Bender and JC Spink through their Benderspink banner.

Story centers on a Type-A woman who has planned every detail of her wedding, from the date, menu, kind of flowers, music and location -- even though she lacks a groom.  When she meets the perfect guy, she must figure out how to get him to the altar without him finding out that this was her plan all along.

Bush recently rewrote "Adrenaline" for Radar Pictures and has worked on "All of Us" for UPN and Overbrook for the last three years. New Line-based Benderspink has recently started development of Spanish comedy franchise "Torrente," comicbook "Power and Glory" and the comedy pitch "All Boxed Up" for the mini-major.

Jake Weiner is overseeing for Benderspink.

New Line scored a hit last summer in the wedding comedy category with "Wedding Crashers," which grossed $210 million domestically.
