Indian helmer Deepa Mehta, whose "Water" -- about the plight of widows in India -- won film at the Bangkok Film Festival last month, plans to tackle another hard-hitting subject.
Pic, provisionally titled "Exclusion," is about 300 Indians on a ship refused entry to Canada nearly 100 years ago, producer David Hamilton said during a visit to India.
Pic is expected to start shooting next year in Canada and India.
