Gold Circle Films has acquired scribe Jeff Lowell's script "How I Met My New Boyfriend's Dead Fiance," which will mark his feature directorial debut.
Project is on the fast-track with the hopes of putting it into production this fall. Gold Circle topper Paul Brooks brought the project in and is overseeing.
Lowell comes out of the TV world, having written for such shows as "The Drew Carey Show," "Spin City" and "Just Shoot Me." He segued to scripting for the bigscreen with the 20th Century Fox comedy "John Tucker Must Die." That Betty Thomas- directed pic is due for release July 28. Jesse Metcalfe stars.
Scribe also recently adapted "Hotel for Dogs" for DreamWorks.
Gold Circle is in post-production on supernatural thriller "Whisper," directed by first-timer Stewart Hendler and starring Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies. Shingle is also in post on the Diane Keaton starrer "Because I Said So." Gold Circle's "Slither" hits theaters March 31.
