'60' surfs younger turf

Eye news mag teams with Yahoo! for younger auds

CBS' "60 Minutes" is surfing Yahoo! in search of younger viewers.

The top-rated newsmagazine, which has one of the oldest auds in the business, has inked a deal with Yahoo! to create a "microsite" with streaming video, blogs and bonus content, CBS News & Sports prexy Sean McManus said Thursday.

Content will be available this fall for the 39th season of "60 Minutes," but a preview of the service will debut Sunday in the form of Ed Bradley's interview with Tiger Woods.

"We believe this is an important step toward establishing '60 Minutes' as the newsmagazine of the future," McManus said.

When the service launches, users will have access to "60 Minutes" content throughout Yahoo!, including the news, sports and entertainment sections of the portal as well as the "60 Minutes"-branded microsite.
