Gilbert
"Roseanne" alum Sara Gilbert has joined the cast of the ABC pilot "Girls on the Bus," playing a news reporter covering a political campaign on the road.
Gilbert will star as Helen alongside the previously announced Kiele Sanchez, who plays Ronnie. Like Sanchez ("Related"), Gilbert is a refugee from the WB's final season, where she starred in the weblet's short-lived laffer "Twins."
Gilbert's other recent credits include "ER" and the feature "Laws of Attraction."
Also joining the cast is Maulik Pancholy ("Hitch," "Weeds") as Skip. Pilot, from Touchstone TV and BGTV, was formerly known as both "What Happens on the Bus" and the untitled Don Todd project.
In other casting news, thesp John Ducey ("Freddie") has been added to Fox comedy pilot "Union Jackass," while Colby Paul will play David. Project comes from 20th Century Fox TV.
