Character and voice actor Bob Papenbrook died March 17 from complications arising from a chronic lung condition. He was 50.

Born in San Diego, Papenbrook performed in more than 200 movies, TV shows, plays, videogames, radio and commercial spots. He did voices for numerous Japanese shows and films, including "V.R. Troopers," "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers," "Digimon: The Movie" and "Cowboy Bebop." He also appeared on TV shows including "Boston Public," "The Chronicle" and "JAG."

He taught martial arts for 10 years, serving as a kickboxing coach.

He is survived by his life companion, Debbie Rothstein; son Bryce, a voice actor; his mother and father and a brother.
