Oater docu lassoes a distrib

Pic chronicles history of Pioneertown

DeauxBoy Prods. and Seventh Art Releasing have inked a distrib deal for "The Last Western," a feature documentary on the era of the B-Western.

Pic focuses on Pioneertown, a life-sized Western set created in 1946 by Gene Autry and Roy Rogers that became the backdrop for films such as "The Cisco Kid," "Buffalo Bill, Jr." and "The Last of the Pony Riders." Pioneertown later fell into disuse and became a 1960s hangout for biker gangs and desert rats.

Docu is directed by Chris Deaux for DeauxBoy Prods. and produced by Dexter Williams.
