Cabler to film tomb find

Site said to contain artifacts from 1500 to 1300 B.C.

Discovery Channel has been granted exclusive documentary rights to film the most recent findings in the Valley of the Kings.

In a deal inked by Zahi Hawass, head of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, cabler will be given access to KV63, a tomb discovered by archeologists from the U. of Memphis in February. Located near the tomb of Tutankhamen, new site is said to contain artifacts dated from around 1500 to 1300 B.C. Several caskets and sarcophagi have yet to be opened.

Docu will chronicle each phase of the archeological exploration. Major finding is the first in the Valley of the Kings in more than 80 years.

Although Hawass will allow news orgs to film and photograph, Discovery Channel is the sole owner of worldwide docu rights.

Film is skedded to preem in the U.S. this summer.
