WASHINGTON -- Indecency complaints to the FCC spiked dramatically in February, when the agency received some 134,300 -- more than three times the total 44,109 logged in the entire fourth quarter of 2005.
All concerned NBC's "Las Vegas," and the majority were filed against a sexually suggestive scene involving a strip club in the Feb. 6 episode.
The majority also are likely the result of an action alert that conservative advocacy group American Family Assn. emailed to its more than 3 million members, urging them to complain to the FCC about the scene. Attached to the email was a clip of the offending scene, which also was available on org's Web site.
