Buena Vista Home Entertainment has promoted Jeanne Hobson to senior VP of sales and distribution, a newly created post in which she will play a key leadership role in the Mouse House's launch of new formats such as the Blu-ray Disc.
Hobson, a 10-year Disney vet, was previously VP of trade marketing. She will now oversee all domestic DVD sales for the homevid division with a focus on creating and executing key account initiatives.
"Jeanne has played a pivotal role in the development of BVHE's sales and trade marketing strategies," said executive VP of sales, distribution and trade marketing Pat Fitzgerald, to whom Hobson reports. "Her invaluable knowledge and understanding of the industry will be instrumental in building upon our retail relationships."
