Negotiations for a new contract covering about 500 location managers and scouts are set to begin March 30, four months prior to expiration of the current contract.
The managers and scouts are repped by Local 399 of the Intl. Brotherhood of Teamsters, which also represents drivers, casting directors and animal wranglers.
Negotiators agreed last year to extend the location managers' three-year contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers for an additional year with a 3% wage hike and a 50¢ increase in pension and health contributions.
The one-year extension made the contract's termination date match with the Basic Hollywood Agreement for the Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Members of IATSE ratified a new three-year deal last week.
