New Line's "Pride and Glory," which director Gavin O'Connor is shooting in New York, has just recast Jon Voight in the role of the patriarch of a cop family. Pic, which stars Edward Norton, Colin Farrell and Noah Emmerich, had Nick Nolte set to play that pivotal role. However, after he'd put in months of research into the role with O'Connor, a chronic knee injury flared up when Nolte got to the set and he was unable to perform.
DreamWorks is still working on a way to resolve its bad break on "Blades of Glory," after Jon Heder ("Napoleon Dynamite") fractured his ankle while working on his skating skills. Heder stars with Will Ferrell in the comedy.
DreamWorks has been scrambling, trying to coax Warner Bros. into moving up Heder's next film, "Mama's Boy," so that it can push back the ice skating film. The hope is that Heder - who's now in a soft cast - can convalesce while making that comedy and return to the ice later this year when healed. That requires co-star Diane Keaton, who plays his angelic mother, to alter her plans to make the slot switch possible.
