Bigel goes on 'Play Dates'

Production company buys rights to Carroll novel

Danny Bigel's production company has bought the film rights to mommy lit novel "Play Dates" by Leslie Carroll. Bigel will produce.

Story is about a twentysomething Gotham mom whose husband leaves her for an older woman. Struggling to adjust to her new life as a single mother, she finds that her six-year-old has a more active social life than she does.

Bigel Entertainment is shopping for a scribe to adapt the novel.

Launched last year, the L.A.-based Bigel Entertainment also is developing bestseller "Never Change" by Elizabeth Berg for Sharon Stone to direct. Project will mars Stone's directorial debut.
