Studio also has attached Phillips to direct "The Disassociate," from a script by Zach Helm, about an ordinary man who questions his sanity when he receives postcards from God.
Pic will be produced by Lindsay Doran, who produced Helm's "Stranger Than Fiction.." That Marc Forster-directed film stars Will Ferrell.
Warners prexy of production Jeff Robinov made the two-year overall deal for the Todd Phillips Co., which comes after the expiration of Phillips' previous deal at Dimension. There, Phillips developed projects that included "School for Scoundrels," the remake he just finished directing with Jon Heder and Billy Bob Thornton starring.
Phillips developed a good relationship with WB brass when he shot "Starsky & Hutch" for the studio. He also directed comedy hits "Road Trip" and "Old School." His mission is to hatch directing vehicles and become a catalyst for reasonably priced comedies with breakout potential that he'll oversee as producer.
