PAUL HAGGIS Family owns three Prius cars, and his house is solar powered, with energy-efficient appliances. Both home and business are carbon neutral, and he recycles and uses cloth bags for shopping. Bought solar panels for an African village with no electricity. Founding board member of Earth Communication Office. Current board member of Environmental Media Assn. and the President's Council of Defenders of Wildlife.
Edward Norton His New York home is solar-powered, and he used recycled materials to build it. Doesn't own a car, and rents hybrids when he drives. Launched the BP Solar Neighbors Program that persuades celebrities to use solar energy and donates solar panels to low-income families. Board member of Enterprise Foundation and Global Green USA. Contributes to a Peacemakers Fund at Yale. Narrated National Geographic documentary "Strange Days on Planet Earth."
LEONARDO DICAPRIO Drives a Prius, and his home is solar powered. Producing a documentary on global warming, "Eleventh Hour," as well as several short films on global warming and clean water. Launched international campaign for clean water with Global Green USA. Evangelized global warming on Oprah Winfrey's show. Serves on boards of Global Green USA and NRDC. Co-chaired Earth Day 2000.
WOODY HARRELSON Drives electric (Rav4) and bio-diesel cars. Homes were built using sustainable building materials, solar power and water catchment systems. Uses a bio-fuel and solar-powered bus for his production trailers. Grows biodynamic and permaculture farmed foods at home and eats only organic and vegan food. Uses only eco-friendly nontoxic products and household cleaners. Wears hemp and organic cotton clothing. Uses only tree-free or recycled paper. SUSAN SARANDON Works with Bobby Kennedy Jr.'s Riverkeeper environmental org. Works with Rainforest Action Network. Lobbied to preserve wetlands. Did voiceovers for environmental films, including rainforest documentaries "The Shaman's Apprentice" and "Wilderness: The Last Stand." Typically arrives at the Oscars in a Prius.
