BERLIN -- "Capote" screened to a standing ovation at the Berlinale on Feb. 17, and the afterparty, at the hot Berlin club Weekend, also got raves.
This was a return trip for helmer Bennett Miller, whose doc "The Cruise" played in the 1999 Forum section of the fest. Miller, star Philip Seymour Hoffman, pic's Clifton Collins Jr., Sony Classics' Michael Barker and producer Michael Ohoven enjoyed the view from the 12th floor of an old Soviet-era office block on the city's famous Alexanderplatz and across the street from Berlin's iconic TV town, a relic of East German technology.
