New Line has decided to get "All Boxed Up," buying Ross Venokur's family comedy pitch for low against mid-six figures and setting it up with J.C. Spink and Chris Bender at their Benderspink banner.
Project's centered on a retired couple deciding to sell their house and then inviting their quirky grown children and families for a weekend of packing up, leading to relationships unraveling and culminating in bringing everyone closer together. New Line execs Sam Brown and Kathy Busby are overseeing for the studio.
Venokur has authored children's books, worked on "The Tick" and is a writer on Fox's "Night at the Museum." He is also penning "Space Chimps" for Vanguard and "Thumb" for Henson Co.
New Line-based Benderspink produced five 2005 releases -- "Red Eye," "Ring 2," "Just Friends," "A History of Violence" and "Monster-in-Law" -- and just wrapped "Butterfly Effect 2." Upcoming projects include "The Ghouly Boys" at Mandate, "Curve" with Original, and "R5," "Boob Job" and "Stay at Home Tom" at New Line.
