
Rhames
Fox greenlit the comedy pilot "Julie Reno, Bounty Hunter" on Friday, while Ving Rhames will star in the CW's untitled "Aquaman" project.
In other pilot casting news, Kristin Lehman ("Killer Instinct") has been cast in Fox legal sudser "Damages," while Timm Sharp ("Undeclared") will lead CBS laffer "Play Nice."
"Julie Reno," from scribe Michael Ross ("Andy Richter Controls the Universe"), is a single-camera half-hour about a single mom who becomes a bounty hunter to make ends meet.
Ross, whose credits also include "Life on a Stick," will exec produce with Sandy Grushow and Paul Shapiro. Twentieth Century Fox TV is behind the sitcom.
Meanwhile, "Aquaman" would see Rhames returning to TV after his last skein, "Kojak," had a brief USA Network revival.
Rhames will play McCaffery, a lighthouse keeper who serves as mentor to series lead A.C. Curry (played by Will Toale) in the Warner Bros. TV project. Denise Quinones has joined the cast as Navy fighter pilot Rachel Starling, a potential love interest for Curry.
Rhames next will be seen in the feature "Mission: Impossible 3." He also was in "Dawn of the Dead" and the first two "Mission: Impossible" features.
Meanwhile, Lehman will play Susan Keever in "Damages," a 20th Century Fox TV lawcentric skein set in Chicago.
Lehman was seen in features "The Way of the Gun" and "Dog Park" and appeared in the TV skeins "Kevin Hill" and "Judging Amy."
As for Sharp, thesp will star in "Play Nice" as Scott MacCaffrey (no relation to Rhames' "Aquaman" character), a easygoing guy who is tapped by his dad to run the family's toy business, along with his much more straitlaced sister.
CBS Paramount Network TV is behind the show. Sharp next will be seen in features "Aurora Borealis" and "Americano." On TV, he was in "Six Feet Under."

- Fox drama pilot "Vanished" has added Joanne Kelly ("Jeremiah") as Sara Collins, Chris Egan ("Empire") as Ben Wilson and Margarita Levieva ("The Invisible") as Marcy Collins. Twentieth Century Fox TV is producing the thriller about a missing senator's wife.
- Brad William Henke ("North Country") has been cast as Owen in ABC drama pilot "October Road." Touchstone TV entry focuses on a writer who moves back home. Evan Jones ("Jarhead") joins the project as Ikey.
- Amy Sloan ("The Aviator") will play Charlotte in CBS' "Sex, Power, Love & Politics." Comedy pilot, from Sony Pictures TV, revolves around staffers in their mid-30s who work on Capitol Hill.
- Rachel Boston ("The Closer") is set to star as Steph in the untitled Eye pilot from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman.
Sitcom, from NBC Universal TV Studio, revolves around a young couple who must deal with the wife's large extended family.
