Family laffer, about the relationship between an eighth-grader and his slightly eccentric single mom, is from "Malcolm in the Middle" scribe Rob Ulin. TBS is producing the project.
"Boy's Life" is one of three scripted half-hour pilots in contention for a 2006 pickup. Others are "My Boys," about the dating life of a female sports columnist, from Gavin Polone, Jamie Tarses and scribe Betsy Thomas, and "The Jeff Garlin Program," from Garlin and Phil Rosenthal (Daily Variety, Jan. 26).
Travis last starred in the UPN pilot "Talk Show Diaries" and feature film "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."
