Foley feted with humanitarian award

All funds raised from the fete at Gotham's Copacabana will benefit the recreational and educational facility in Astoria, Queens.
"In the truest sense of the word, Jack Foley is one of the motion picture industry's true gentlemen and friends," said Bill Briendel, prexy of Variety, the Children's Charity of New York.
Foley has been with Focus since the Universal unit's inception in 2002.
He has overseen such releases as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "The Pianist," "Lost in Translation" and "Brokeback Mountain."
Exec previously held posts at USA Films, October Films, Miramax, MGM and Columbia Pictures.
Foley is a member of the board of U.S. Variety and has also been involved with the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, as well as the New Jersey-based Research Center for Women.
Past recipients of the honor include industry vets Jeff Blake, Tom Sherak, Chuck Viane, Rick Sands and Shari Redstone.
