Warner Bros. Pictures has hired Australian-born Gregor Jordan to direct action drama "Under and Alone," which Mel Gibson and partner Bruce Davey are producing through their Icon Prods.
Gibson was originally supposed to star in the pic but changed his plans because of directorial project "Apocalypto."
"Under" is based on the real-life story of William Queen, an ATF undercover agent who infiltrated the notorious and violent San Fernando Valley chapter of the Mongols motorcycle gang.
Daniel Barnz and Ned Zeman are rewriting their screenplay 'Under and Alone' with Gregor Jordan. Casting hasn't been announced.
Producing with Davey and Gibson is Icon's Kevin Lake. Warners senior VP Dan Lin oversees for the studio.
"Under and Alone" marks the second studio feature Jordan has signed onto since helming acclaimed indie "Buffalo Soldiers," for Miramax and Good Machine Intl., and "Ned Kelly," which was distribbed by Focus Features.
Earlier this year, Jordan was hired to rewrite and direct the adaptation of John Christopher's "The Tripods Trilogy" for Disney's Touchstone Pictures label.
