Ken Mackenzie-Forbes has been tapped to top the Production Co., a not-for-profit shingle launched in 1999 to stimulate Melbourne's performance industry.
Jeanne Pratt, wife of Australia's second richest man, Richard Pratt, chairs the Production Co.
Mackenzie-Forbes is an independent producer and former artistic director of IMG Australia. He has toured Kiri Te Kanawa, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and Anthony Warlow.
He replaces Rachel D. Taylor, who will pursue a writing career and retain a seat on the board.
Each year the Production Co. stages three concert versions of tuners at the Victorian Arts Center.
The 2006 season has yet to be announced. Last season's shows included "Sunset Boulevard," "Kiss Me Kate" and "Oklahoma."
