HOLLYWOOD -- One sign, that the Feb. 1 Chinese Theater preem for "Final Destination 3" won't be the last stop for the franchise, said helmer James Wong, was New Line topper Bob Shaye's first comment after a test screening: "And when we do 'FD 4' ..."

There's certainly enough ready material. As Wong said: "If you have death, you have a FD franchise." Producer Craig Perry said the key to an FD film is "everyday locations infused with dread and danger."

New Line's Richard Brener (who mentioned he was eager to see "This Film Is Not Yet Rated," the Sundance docu on the MPAA's ratings criteria), said the pic got a well-deserved R.

"They can give you an R just for tone," said Brener. "Extreme violence, gore, nudity, language -- we've got them all."
