20th rings in 'New Years'

Studio teams with Hyde Park on spec script

Twentieth Century Fox has preemptively bought the spec script "New Years Steve" by tyros Josh Herman and Adam Schwartz for Fox-based Hyde Park Entertainment.

Project marks the second pic put in development under Hyde Park's new five-year co-financing production deal with Fox.

High-concept family comedy involves outrageous life-changing resolutions that reverberate over an endless New Year's Eve.

Hyde Park chairman Ashok Amritraj and newly named senior VP of production Patrick Aiello will produce.

Spec was brought to the studio by Aiello -- who before coming aboard Hyde Park as an exec had a producing deal with the company -- and was then given to Fox's Debbie Leibling. Leibling and Jason Young are overseeing for Fox.

Hyde Park most recently released Disney's "Shopgirl" and DreamWorks' "Dreamer." Shingle is shooting "Premonition," starring Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. That pic is fully financed by Hyde Park and will be distributed domestically through TriStar/MGM.

At Hyde Park, Aiello is also producing "Witches," written by J.H. Wyman and directed by Angela Robinson at Disney, where Hyde Park has its second-look co-financing deal.
