Brit comic's on top
'Gervais Show' podcasts top 2 mil on Guardian
In typical self-effacing manner, Gervais welcomed the news by joking, "Usually in order to be heard by millions of people, you have to do a show on BBC Radio One or Two. The problem is, those stations expect you to be competent and professional. We had to find a way 'round that."
The half-hour shows -- dreamed up by Gervais, regular co-scribe Stephen Merchant and sidekick Karl Pilkington -- are available every Monday at guardian.co.uk/rickygervais.
While the Brit comic shows an enduring popularity on his home turf, a whopping 40% of the downloads are by auds in the U.S.
