D.J. Caruso will direct "Disturbia," a thriller expected to begin production by April. Steven Spielberg will exec produce.
Scripted by Christopher Landon, "Disturbia" was bought as a spec last fall by DreamWorks and Montecito Pictures partners Tom Pollock and Ivan Reitman.
Script revolves around a troubled high school senior, still grieving over his father's death, who is sentenced to house arrest after an outburst of anger at school.
Caruso most recently directed the Al Pacino-Matthew McConaughey-starrer "Two for the Money," as well as "Taking Lives" and "The Salton Sea." He has also helmed eps of "The Shield" and "Smallville."
Jeremy Kramer and Adam Goodman are shepherding the pic.
