NBC U ups drama exec

Lancaster fills in for Pope position

Laura Lancaster has been upped to senior VP of drama and cable programming at NBC Universal Television Studio.

As expected, Lancaster fills the vacancy left by Katherine Pope, who was promoted to exec VP of entertainment at the Peacock last week (Daily Variety, Jan. 11).

Lancaster will now report to NUTS prexy Angela Bromstad.

Exec served as a drama VP for the studio for the past year and a half. In that position, she developed "House" and supervised ongoing shows "Crossing Jordan" and "Surface."

Before that, she ran the drama department at Universal Network Television, rising from a director position. Lancaster also held down jobs for Ellen DeGeneres' Crazy Monkey Prods. and Chase Rucker Prods.
