Toronto's Ellis Entertainment has picked up exclusive U.S. and Canadian rights to produce a North American version of successful Dutch reality series "Hello Goodbye."
Viewers get to see the real-life backstory behind travelers at an airport: the adventures, reunions and leave takings as they happen.
The sale was made by distribution company the Format Content Company of Europe (FCCE) and "Hello Goodbye" creator Blazhoffski Prods.
"Blazhoffski and FCCE have proven that true life does indeed make the most compelling television," said Ellis prexy Stephen Ellis. "We know 'Hello Goodbye' is going to resonate with networks and audiences alike, and look forward to producing this international hit for North America."
The "Hello Goodbye" format has sold to the U.K., France, Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Ireland, Finland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, Czech Republic, Belgium, Sweden and Australia.
