Fox pushes its 'Luck'

Lohan pic moved to challenge 'Poseidon'

Showing confidence it has a pic that will prove effective counterprogramming among young femmes, Fox is moving Lindsay Lohan vehicle "Just My Luck" from March 3 to May 12, where it will face Warner Bros.' tent-pole "Poseidon."

Studio is hoping the comedy will repeat the success of other small-scale films for young femmes that have fared well against summer blockbusters, like last June's "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" from Warner Bros.

"We think it's an important movie for the young female audience and will be perfect counterprogramming against all those event movies," Fox distrib topper Bruce Snyder said.

Studio isn't letting go of the March 3 date, however. It's moving Fox 2000 kidpic "Aquamarine" from April 14 into "Just My Luck's" former slot.

Other pics opening March 3 include WB cop comedy "16 Blocks," starring Bruce Willis, and Weinstein Co. scarer "Pulse."
