Production of the $30 million film will start in spring in Blighty's Lake District, where Potter lived, and on the Isle of Man. Pic will include CGI animation sequences.
Phoenix Pictures' Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and David Thwaites produce alongside David Kirschner and Corey Sienega of Kirschner Prods.
Summit Entertainment is handling international sales.
"The film is sold in most major and smaller territories," said Summit exec veepee David Garrett, who negotiated the deal. No North American distrib is attached as yet.
