'Blood' lust for Foxx, Par

Thesp turns to 'Leaves' pic

Jamie Foxx is attached to star in the adaptation of Jeff Stetson's novel "Blood on the Leaves" for Paramount Pictures.

Foxx's studio-based production shingle, which will produce, brought the book to Par with him attached.

Stetson will adapt his own work, which centers on a district attorney who grapples with feelings of revenge as he prosecutes a black history professor on trial for the murders of white men accused of crimes against blacks during the civil rights movement. Foxx would topline as the D.A.

Warner Books published the tome in July 2004.

Foxx will produce along with shingle partners Jaime King and Marcus King. At the studio, Brad Weston, Michelle Raimo and Elizabeth Raposo are shepherding.

Recently, Foxx starred on the bigscreen in Sam Mendes "Jarhead" for Universal and finished lensing Michael Mann's "Miami Vice" for the same studio. However, he's switching gears with his next offering: CD "Unpredictable" for J Records. Disc is out Tuesday, and the title track is getting airplay already.
