'Napoleon' gets the girl

Johansson to star in Ross pic

Scarlett Johansson will star in the indie pic "Napoleon and Betsy," which Benjamin Ross will write and direct.

Avi Lerner, Moshe Diamant, Melanie Johansson and Alexandra Milchan will produce.

Pic centers on the true story of Napoleon's last years on St. Helena as seen through the eyes of an English girl with whom he falls in love.

"Napoleon and Betsy" was first pitched nearly two years ago and at one time was set up at Lions Gate.

Ross previously directed HBO's "RKO 281" 1995's "The Young Poisoner's Handbook" and the short "Torte Bluma."

Johansson recently signed on to the Weinstein Co.'s bigscreen adaptation of bestseller "The Nanny Diaries," well Signature Pictures' "Amazon" and Neil Jordan's upcoming "Borgia."
