Park, who was in Europe for tributes at the Thessaloniki and Stockholm fests, told Daily Variety he'll start shooting "Saibogeu jiman gwaenchanha," which has no English title yet but literally means "Even If You're a Cyborg, It's No Problem," in March for release next fall.
The "offbeat romantic comedy," funded by CJ Entertainment, is about two patients in an asylum, one of whom thinks she's a cyborg.
Budgeted at $2.5 million, pic will have "at least one big star and quite a lot of CG effects for the woman's fantasies," per Park. Shooting will last three months, fairly rapid by South Korean standards.
Park's next production will be "Bakjwi," which means "The Bat," but whose English title is the the palindromic "Evil Live." It stars Song Gang-ho from helmer's previous "JSA" and "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance."
Pic will be produced by Park's Moho Film shingle with CJ ponying up the $5 million budget. Shooting will start "sometime in '07," per director.
