Disney crowns its princess

Adams is 'Enchanted' for Mouse

Amy Adams has been tapped to play the princess in "Enchanted," a Disney romantic fable that will mix live-action with CG animation. Kevin Lima ("102 Dalmatians") is directing.

Originally scripted by Bill Kelly, "Enchanted" is about a princess-in-waiting who's banished by an evil queen from the cartoon world of Andalasia to the hardened world of present-day New York. The film turns to live action, and so does the princess. She attempts to navigate the city, find true love and save herself.

Barry Sonnenfeld and Barry Josephson are producing, with Chris Chase and Sunil Perkash exec producers.

Adams, who most recently starred in "Junebug" and got her first big break with "Catch Me if You Can," just wrapped the Adam McKay-directed untitled NASCAR project that stars Will Ferrell.
