Lions Gates taps Bohl for new thriller

Lions Gate Films has hired scribe Charlie Bohl to pen an untitled thriller starring LL Cool J. Project is the first in a multipic deal inked with the rapper-thesp.

Under the terms of the multiyear pact, LL Cool J Inc. will produce the slate of urban market films with Jason Barrett's Alchemy Entertainment.

Lions Gate is keeping the storyline of the untitled project under wraps, except to say it will be an African-American version of a cross between "Fatal Attraction" and "Body Heat."

Bohl penned the feature "Swimfan" and wrote and produced the recent CBS telepic "Martha Behind Bars."

Alchemy Entertainment is a management firm repping actors, writers and producers that packages films and TV projects and sets up financing and co-financing deals. Barrett is LL Cool J's manager.
