Ryan Pinkston ("Quintuplets," "Bad Santa") is attached to star in the single-camera laffer, playing a 5-foot tall, 18-year-old rookie cop who reluctantly agrees to take on assignments that make use of his small size -- including going undercover as a student. He'll also be trying to impress his dad, the chief of police.
Coolidge is set to write and exec produce the NBC Universal Television Studios-produced project, with Walter Hamada and Chris Fenton of H2F Entertainment also aboard as producers.
Peacock has made a script commitment to the laffer, whose title refers to both the height of Pinkston's character and common slang for police.
Earlier this month, Par paid $1.2 million against $1.8 million for Coolidge-penned "Cockblockers," with Topher Grace and Seann William Scott attached to star (Daily Variety, Nov. 4). He also wrote and is set to direct "Employee of the Month" for Lions Gate.
Coolidge has several other projects in the works as a scribe or producer, including "Camp" for Revolution Studios and "The Loser," "Mancrush" and "Ride Along" at New Line. He sold the pilot "Rev'd" to Fox last year.
Pinkston just wrapped his first starring feature role with "Nothing but the Truth," due from New Line next year. He first gained noticed playing an obnoxious red carpet interviewer on the first season of MTV's "Punk'd."
